Gods & Religion Development Rules
For now, you may suggest minor gods in the pantheons of light and darkness. If you would like to suggest a god, post your suggestion in this thread. Suggest at least trait, virtue, or vice this god may represent, or go as far as writing up a name, backstory—including parentage, and appearance for the god.
Rules for Suggesting Gods
  1. At this point, gods may only be minor and should represent an important concept in society. We are not looking for major gods as we already have those roles filled.
  2. As this world may one day be published, please do not offer up any of your own original creations that you may intend to use in your own personal works to avoid potential future copyright issues.
  3. For the same reasons as above, do not steal concepts from existing creative works. I would not like to be slapped with cease and desist orders in the future, k?
  4. Do not offer up versions of gods from real world mythologies and histories, but you may use concepts of these gods for inspiration.

Orran’sulani
Orran’sulani (pronounced OR-rahn SU-lahn-ee) is considered to be the Father of Adun, as well as the father of Adun’s pantheon. The world’s mythos tell that he and his wife, Nydoini, arrived on the planet when it was empty and lifeless and together, they brought the world to life.

Worship
Orran’sulani is not worshiped in Adun, and never really has been. Many early humans worshiped Nydoini, and the elemental races all worshiped the god who created them. After Orran’sulani’s death, Idraen succeeded him as the king of Zephaer.

Appearance
Orran’sulani was a tall, lean man who carried himself with the graceful composure suiting his position. Six white wings graced his back, a sign of his immense divine power. He was handsome, bordering on beautiful with flawless pale skin, pale blue eyes, and long, straight, platinum blonde hair that flowed to the ground. His long, tapered ears were inherited by many of his children, a trait that was added to the elemental races. For all his regality, he was often a person in good humor, remarked for his kindness and warm smile.

Orran’sulani’s garb was reminiscent of the clothing styles of many Asiatic cultures, consisting of long robes with open sleeves and adorned with sashes. His preference toward colors were white and pale shades of blue, green, or gold.

History
Orran’sulani and his wife Nydoini wed before their arrival on Adun. When they found the planet, the myths say that it was lifeless, and after their arrival, the two gods quickly set forth in making the world livable and creating flora and fauna.

They did not come alone to Adun. With them came a pair of dragons, Asharisan and Umossa; Asharisan being bonded to to Orran’sulani and Umossa to Nydoini. On their heels came various spirits, including the elemental spirits were necessary for moderating the world’s environments, and fae. They also created the angels to serve them, and demons found their way to Adun.

Orran’sulani is most notably charged with separating the higher planes, whereas Nydoini is responsible for much of Adun’s lifeforms. It was shortly after their arrival on the planet when he created first Zephaer, the City of the Gods, for he and his wife, and other aligned peoples, to reside in, then he created the four elemental planes for the elemental spirits, the Maze of Dreams for the fae, and finally, Malbolge for the demons, dark spirits, and other lower plane entities that had found their way to their world in order to keep them detained.

After bringing Adun to life, they focused on creating their own family. Each child would have a purpose, and so they were each aligned with one of the seven elements. Nydoini decided these elements while she was pregnant. First born was their son Zelan who was aligned with the Air element. Shortly after his birth came their first daughter, Maris, who was aligned with the Water element. After Maris came their second daughter, Brecha, who was aligned with the Earth element. Following Brecha came Alaezo, the second son who was aligned with the Fire element. Next came Entra, the third daughter, aligned with the element of Life. Finally came the twins Idraen and Ispa who were aligned with the elements of Light and Darkness respectively. Considering the duality in the nature of light and darkness, it was only fitting that they were born into the world together. Idraen, the third son, was also remarkably alike to Orran’sulani, who was also aligned to the element of Light.

After Orran’sulani and Nydoini finished their family, Asharisan and Umossa chose to provide each of the gods’ children with a dragon companion as well, in the form of their own offspring. The two dragons mated and Umossa laid a clutch of seven eggs, one for each of the young gods, and one for each of the elements. These dragons were Vorkas for Zelan, Asimeth for Maris, Urobolus for Brecha, Kezho for Alaezo, Sh’Laife for Entra, Nyusha for Idraen, and Alaas’th for Ispa.

When the children came of age, they were introduced to their realms, and they took command of the spirits that inhabited them. It was also decided that they would each have an opportunity to create a race to serve them in the material world. Nydoini took basic humanoid forms and the seven gods were allowed to shape them as they saw fit. They would be incarnated with the souls of elemental spirits to ensure their loyalty to their god. These races were the Zaedyn, Mariel, Brech’mar, Asath, Nafod, Idayn, and Danaij. The races were populated across the world, starting in small niches and in some cases, spread outward from there.

Orran’sulani only lived long enough to see a few of his grandchildren born. The first of the third generation born while their grandfather lived were the four Seasonal Goddesses, all fathered by Zelan, and born to Maris, Entra, and Brecha, who conceived around the same time. Ispa had been snubbed by her brother in this endeavor, which was one of many acts that would lead to the fracturing of the family and a war that would consume the world. Maris bore Fria, the Goddess of Winter, while Entra bore Areria, Goddess of Spring, and finally Brecha bore twin daughters, Glaeria, Goddess of Summer and Oleiria, Goddess of Autumn.

After being left childless while her sisters all welcomed these four daughters made Ispa bitter, and after a lifetime of standing apart from her siblings due to her darker nature, the Goddess of Darkness decided to take child bearing into her own hands. Ispa first seduced Alaezo, the brother who respected her the most and conceived Craeseth, who would become the God of War. Shortly after his birth, she tricked Zelan into thinking she had forgiven him for rejecting her, and was able to convince him to give her a child, Sai’ras, the Goddess of Chaos. After her birth, she then approached Idraen and seduced him with much effort, resulting in the birth of Yoma, the Goddess of Death. Ispa kept her children at a distance from the rest of her family in Malbolge, keeping their influence from changing the direction her children were intended for. As such, Orran’sulani had little contact with these grandchildren before his death. Over the course of the next few years, Ispa also bore two more children, both fathered by demon lords—Suldra, Goddess of Lust, and Belas, God of Corruption.

Ispa’s goals couldn’t be hidden forever as her children reached adulthood and their actions grew harder to hide. Concerned as to why Ispa was keeping her children apart from the family, Orran’sulani sought answers and soon realized that his daughter was raising an army against them. Disappointed, Orran’sulani went to his youngest daughter to give her an opportunity to return to the family, along with her children, to maintain the peace, but Ispa betrayed him, killing him and consuming his soul. As a result, Ispa gained his immense spiritual power in addition to her own, as well as his memories and knowledge. This power would be put to use in pitting her offspring against her siblings, and sending the races of Ageond to war against the other races, a war fought on two fronts known as the War of the Gods.
